Lawn Fawn Happy Halloween

Hi Everyone! I'm still on a Halloween card making binge. My Lawn Fawn stamp collection never disappoints because the combinations are endless and if you know me, you know I love my Lawn Fawn stamps. They have a special place on my shelf right behind my chair because I grab them the most. What I love about these stamps isn't just that they are so darn cute, but also because they are superior in quality. The images stamp crisp and clear each and every time. I still have a few more ideas floating around in my head that just need to come out on paper, so I suspect this won't be the last Halloween card you'll see this year. Enjoy!

Lawn Fawn Happy Haunting

Hi Everyone! Today I'm having fun creating more Halloween cards. This card was created using Lawn Fawn's Happy Haunting stamp set. I was going in a completely different direction when I created the moon and made some mistakes.  I've always been told that when you make art, there are no mistakes, they are to be looked at as creative bumps that challenge you to go further than you thought you could. It was hard for me to keep going because that wasn't the only mistake I made. Imagine the look of horror on my face when I realized I used the wrong kind of ink to make my foggy clouds!! At that point I was ready to give up, and I actually walked away from the project for several hours.  I returned, reluctantly, but decided to keep going, thinking I might just be able to pull something out of this mess.  So, I sat and looked at it for a while and came up with some creative ways to fix my blunders and I'm so glad I did.  For me, this is a major accomplishment because my garbage can is FILLED with what I call "creative disasters".  I'm really glad I resisted the urge to throw this one away because I'm very happy with the results.  Enjoy!

Lawn Fawn Wishing You A Spooky Halloween

It's no secret that I love making Halloween cards, I just wish I had more time to make more of them. There is something about Halloween decorations and cards that I just love.  I love everything from cutesy to terrifying.  This week when my youngest son is on his fall break from school, we're going to decorate the front door and the fireplace mantle.  Here's my first card for Halloween that I created using a mix of stamps and dies.  It's not often you see a card made with Lawn Fawn stamps and Tim Holtz dies mixed together!  Enjoy!

       

Distress Ink Blend - No. 2

Today's Distress Ink Blend is perfect for this time of year whether you are creating Fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving cards or projects.  These colors are so pretty together.  I love bright fall colors, and this fits the bill.

Colors applied in the order below.  Squeezed Lemonade is the overall color and also the "blending ink" to tie all the other colors together.

My Favorite Things Quick Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! I hope your week is going well and starting off with happiness, which brings me to the card I created today.  Doesn't it make you happy?  I used some MFT stamps and dies, their patterned paper and cardstock along with matching ink.  It's fun to combine stamp sets to create scenes and this little scene just make me smile. Enjoy!

Distress Ink Blends - No. 1

If you've ever made a card or a journal page, you know much of the work goes into creating an amazing background.  I've been working on blending combinations with my Distress Ink pads and cataloging them so I can refer to them easily for future reference.  I will be sharing these Distress Ink Blends on my blog so you can see which colors work well with one another.  Now I'm certainly not saying I'm the only one who has put these colors together.  More than likely you have seen other crafters use the same colors together.  I'm just cataloging them all here on my blog in case you're interested in taking a look and maybe using these combinations on a project you're working on.

I use one color in the combination to act as the "blending" ink.  For instance, in the first combination below I used Tumbled Glass to do the overall blending.  I always use the lightest color as the "blending" ink.  I sort of look at this color as the boss that blends everyone together, so to speak.
