Lawn Fawn - Boo!

Hi Everyone! I swear this is my last Halloween card. I know I said that before, but this time I promise.....hmmm, well maybe not promise, ya never know. When an idea strikes, I just have to get it out of my head so maybe this is my last Halloween card, maybe not, no promises.

For this card, I decided to do some masking. I had this idea of creating a word with stamps and knew it would take many smaller type images but since my Lawn Fawn collection is HUGE, it was no problem.

Here's how I created this card:

I started by stamping all the images onto masking paper and cutting them out.

Next, I sketched the word "Boo" onto an A7 card mat very lightly in pencil so I could erase the pencil marks after I stamped all the images.

I began stamping images over the pencil sketch and decided which images would go on top and which would appear to be underneath.  I continued to stamp images that would be in the forefront of the design. When I was finished with those images, I placed a masked image over them and stamped the other images on top so they would appear to be behind the images I already stamped.

As you can see, there are images that are behind others and this is the effect that is achieved when using this masking technique.

Now that my stamping and masking is complete, it's time to start coloring.

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and try this masking technique. It's fun and addicting and there are more ideas in my head that will need to get out on paper. Next stop, Fall/Thanksgiving.....maybe. :)

Lawn Fawn - Halloween Goodie Bags

Hi Everyone!  I have another Lawn Fawn Halloween creation to share using many of their stamp sets. One of the bags has a stamp from a Christmas/Winter stamp set. Can you guess which bag it is? If you guessed the bag in the middle, you're right! The cute critter on the broom is actually from their Winter Bunny stamp set. I couldn't resist putting that little guy and his blowing scarf on a broom. It will definitely be fun to fill them with candy and give them out to trick-or-treaters. I know they'll smile when they get something completely out of the ordinary in their sack. Happy Halloween everyone!

MSTstamps - Doodling On Stamps

Hi Everyone! Today I created a card using My Favorite Things Party Patterns stamps as a canvas for some fun and creative doodling. The solid stamps are perfect for putting your own personality on a card, and the dotted and string circles add to the overall doodling theme. For the sentiment, I used MFT's Brushstroke Birthday sentiments and in-lined the sentiment with a Signo Uni-Ball white pen to make it stand out a bit and fit with the doodling theme. I hope you enjoy this fun birthday card and try creating one with some of your solid image stamps.

MFTStamps - Quick Happy Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! Today I had to quickly put together a birthday card for someone special and I was already two days late. I really wanted to create a card that would be special so I went to my cabinet where I keep all the My Favorite Things products and pulled out a border die, stamp set, some cardstock and a stencil. That's it! Sometimes I do my best creating when I'm in a pinch and have to hurry and create something so I can get it in the mail.  I really like how this came out and I think my niece will enjoy the cheerful colors and forgive me for being late this year. Enjoy!

Hey There, Pumpkin - Lawnscaping Challenge

Happy Tuesday! I'd love to say the weather is finally cooling off here in Arizona, but I'd only be telling you half the truth. It is a little cooler today, but by the end of the week it's expected to get back up into the 90's. I truly do envy all of you who enjoy 4 seasons. I grew up in Wisconsin so I know what that's like and Fall was always my most favorite time of the year and also the time of year when I get to create my favorite kind of cards.  I love making Halloween cards and what could be cuter than a couple of critters dressed up for Halloween. I thought this one turned out so cute it would be perfect to enter in Lawnscaping Challenges "Too Cute To Spook" challenge.

I used Lawn Fawn's Critters In Costume and Sweater Weather stamp sets and for the sentiment I used Harold's ABC's. I colored the critters with Copic markers and made a spooky (oops cute) background using Distress Inks.  The grass was created using Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border die.  Enjoy!
