Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Inspired By Music

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and that you're ready for another fun challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week's theme is, Inspired By Music. I created a pretty card using the Simon Says Stamp You Matter stamp set and die from the new STAMPtember release. Enjoy!

I begin by creating the first background using the Tim Holtz Bubble layered stencil along with Ranger Texture Paste. I applied this pattern in random areas.

Here you can see all the areas where I applied the bubble pattern. I didn't do much in the center because I knew that would be covered up with my second panel so instead of wasting texture paste, I left it empty.

When the texture paste was completely dry, I sponged on Evergreen Bough Distress Paint allowing some of the paint to cover the bubbles completely and some of the paint to cover only the top of the bubbles.

When the paint was completely dry, I went over the textured areas with a Vintage Photo Distress Crayon and blended the pigment in with my finger tips.

To add more texture to my background, I cut out several Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops and colored them with Simon Says Stamp Melon Dye Ink. To color these circles without tearing them, I used the Ranger Mini Blending Tool to pounce the ink onto the circles.

I adhered the Circle Loops with Ranger Multi Matte Medium and when everything was completely dry, I splattered on some Black Soot Distress Ink that I diluted with water and applied that with the Tim Holtz Splatter Brush. I set that aside to dry and began working on my second panel.

For my top panel, I adhered Tim Holtz Melange Tissue Paper with Ranger Multi Matte Medium onto some lightweight chipboard. I set it aside to completely dry.

When my panel was completely dry, I cut the excess tissue paper from the sides of my panel and inked the entire piece with Simon Says Stamp Melon Dye Ink. I then distressed the edges with a Prima Distressing Tool.

I cut out the word You from the You Wafer Die twice. Once from card stock that I colored with the SSS Melon Dye Ink and the other one from Bazzill Peanut Fudge card stock. By offsetting the top die from the bottom die this gives my word some depth.  I created a simple banner for the remaining part of the sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp You Matter stamp set.

I adhered my banner onto the lower half of my musical panel with multi matte medium.

I cut some wildflowers from the Tim Holtz Wildflowers thinlits die from Bazzill Peanut Fudge card stock and adhered them to the side of my panel. I added the You Wafer Die cutout and adhered the musical panel to the bubble textured panel, added some twine and pretty flowers inked with melon dye ink and my card was complete.

Here again is my completed card.

I hoped you enjoyed seeing the process I used to create my Inspired By Music card. Please join us in all the fun and add your project to Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 gift voucher to their amazing store.
