Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Tic Tac Toe

Hi Everyone! It's a brand new week and a brand new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week's challenge is Tic Tac Toe. Chose three squares from left to right, top to bottom or diagonally and create something out of those supplies. I chose spray, doodle and washi.

Here is my project using spray, doodles and washi tape.

I created three different papers using Dylusion Sprays. I used these to create my flowers and leaves. The Dylusions Sprays I used for the first one was Squeezed Orange, Cherry Pie and Funky Fuchsia. For the blue paper, I used London Blue, Calypso Teal and Polished Jade. For the green paper, I used Cut Grass, Pure Sunshine and Fresh Lime.

I placed a stencil on each of the papers and spritzed water over the stencil using my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. I let that sit for about 30 seconds and then removed the stencil. I then rolled a roll of paper towels over the stenciled area on each of the papers to lift the ink leaving the image behind.

I chose Dylusions Fancy Florals stamp set because they look like doodles and stamped them onto the three different papers I created with the sprays.

After stamping the flowers and petals onto the papers, I cut them out using Tim Holtz Scissors.

I then used a Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen and traced the doodles that were already on the flowers from the stamp.

I begin creating the panel on which I will put all my elements and where I will do some stamping and doodling. I begin with the same process on a 6x8 piece of chipboard as I did with the papers I made for the flowers and petals.

I add some stamping onto the background with coordinating Archival Inks. I used Leaf Green and Garden Patina for the flowers and swirls.

I sprayed White Linen Dylusions spray over the Simon Says Stamp Ring Cluster stencil in random areas. When that was completely dry, I began doing my own doodling. I use acrylic paint pens and draw flowers, shapes and other little doodles onto my background. I make quite a few more changes to my background which you will see in my completed project.

I use Paper Artsy Snowflake paint to create a white area where I stamped and painted one of the birds from Dina Wakley's Scribbly Small Birdies. I used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paints to paint the bird brushing on the strokes with a tiny, tiny paint brush. I used Tangerine Twist, Banana and London Bus paint.

Part of the sentiment I wrote by hand onto white card stock with a 1.5 Fude Ball Pen and I stamped out the word "smiles" with Dylusions Dy's Alphabet stamp set in Jet Black Archival Ink. I cut the sentiments out following the lines of the letters. On my completed panel you will see that I edged the two pieces with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I adhered my flowers onto the side of the panel with 3M Double-Sided Foam Tape as well as the sentiment and distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. In the top right corner I added washi tape and my project was complete.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put together my Tic Tac Toe mixed media panel and that you join us this week for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp. I can't wait to see what you create!
